Independent Legal Advice
Independent legal advice (ILA) refers to impartial legal counsel provided by a qualified solicitor who is not involved in the transaction. The primary purpose of ILA is to protect individuals from signing documents without a clear understanding of the associated risks, ensuring they are informed of their rights and responsibilities.
ILA is frequently necessary in property transactions, including purchases, sales, or leases, and is often a requirement of the lender, particularly when guarantors are involved.
We recognise ILA may be needed on short notice and are able to facilitate face-to-face meetings or video calls (subject to lender approval) to accommodate your requirements efficiently.
